Property transfers often involve answering questions asked by prospective buyers, banks and insurers covering such items as structural soundness, especially for older buildings; the operational ability of septic systems, and evaluation of previous additions or changes done without building permits and other Local, County or State approvals.
Shrub Oak Engineering Consultants can assist by an on-site inspection and measurement of the property or structure. Then, following up with a written analysis of the problem area and providing an evaluation of the impact relative to compliance with current Building Codes and Local Ordinances and other Requirements.
The Analysis and Evaluation will be provided under the signature and seal of a Registered New York State Professional Engineer. As such it can be used to refute misconceptions and/or define the requirements for any remediation.
In the alternative, we can offer guidance and specific designs for changes, supplemental construction or remediation in order to meet Building Code or other requirements. The guidance and designs can be implemented by the owner to bring the dwelling or other structure up to current building code requirements and gain necessary Town or County approvals.
